Applications:

1.Construction of subgrade

One of the key factors in thedesignand construction of routesthatpassesthroughlooseground, is reinforcing and stabilizing road subgrade. If there was noaccess toappropriate subgrade, road pavementalsowill disappeargradually. ThereforeMeshiran netscan beused between thesubgradeandthe subbase. Due totechnicalcharacteristicsof these nets, trafficload would be distributed betteron the subgradeandlocal and asymmetricsettle

ments would be prevented. The mainadvantagesofusing Meshiran geogridsin asphalt infrastructure, is topreventasphalt rutting, which is because of hightraffic and particularly heavy vehicles load.

Advantages of Meshiran nets to providestable foundation

  • seperation of SubgradeandSubbase materials and prevention of Subgradematerialsof moving out away from the load
  • minimizingsettlement withuniform distribution of load according to it’s vast area
  • increasing tensile strength due to friction betweenthe net and thesoil, also it improvesshear strength of soil
  • becauseof reticular formation itreducesandeliminates thepore water pressure
  • using ofthese netswill totallyprevent destructivephenomenasuch asreflection cracking

2.Reinforcing floor concrete

Due tolightweightofgeogridnetsandtheirresistantagainst corrosive agents, these netscan be installed close to thesurfacein continuous operationformworking.

This willstrengthen the concrete and controlcracking.

Advantages of using geogridin concrete:

  • reinforcingconcrete
  • requiring a minimumconcrete cover
  • more economicthanother reiforcing materialssuch asarmature
  • completeprotectionagainstallcorrosive agentsin waterthat erodes armature
  • fastandeasyinstallation

3.Reinforcingsoil(reinforcing subgrade)

Meshiran geogrids can solve problems thatheavystructuresand embankments cause on poor soils without the need forpilingandexcavation andembankmentoperations (replacing weakmaterials with resistantandcoarse grained materials).

This action is possible byplacinglayers ofgeogridinloose soilwhere they reach the failure surface.

Also embankment can be constructed in aclosetfull ofcoarsematerialthatismadeof polymernets.

This willstrengthenbackfill’s infrastructure and substantiallyreduce asymmetricsettlement whichcausesa lot ofdamageto the foundation with the possiblity of proper drainage.

4.Prevention of erosion of slopes

Erosion of soil slopes bywindandrain leads toinstabilityand eventuallyfailureof the slope andmaintenanceof theseslopeswithout theuseofMeshiran geogridswould cost too much.

Byplacingalayerof polymernetthatfacilitatesandacceleratesthegrowth ofvegetation, erosioncan bepreventedwiththe use ofexistingnatural conditions.

Meshiran nets havethe followingthree main applications:

  • by creating ashieldforthenewly plantedgrass, aperfect environment would be providedforthe growth ofplant rootsin soilslopes
  • causetraction andgrip of vegetation against torrentialrains
  • reducing theimpact ofrainfallonsoil surfaceandgroundwaterconductivity alongthenet

5.Construction ofaccessroadsinswampyareas

Meshirangeogridis very suitabletouse inswampyareas. Usuallythereneedstotransport lots of materialsatthese areasbutdue topoorquality of soil, Itis possibleonlywhen youendurehardshipand and expend a lot.

Apertures of geogrids, sets wateruniform motion according toit’ssurface, andprovide a solidplatformforpositioning and stabilizing offillermaterials.

This action causes significant decrease in settlementparticularly in swampyareas, and provides required adhesion of materials for operation progress.

6.Reinforcing theinfrastructure ofrailway

Using Meshiran geogrids make it possible to build reliablerailways in a short time onpoorsoil, also maintenanceofthat would becheaperandeasier.

Repair of subbase of railways or ballast isone of the commonrail systemoperations in each country that requires majorannualexpenditure. Geogrids interlock with ballastmaterials, not only enhancebearing capacityandreducecosts but alsopreventproblems such asasymmetric settlement.

Advantages ofgeogridnetin theconstruction projectsand maintenance ofrailroads:

  • enhancingthe capacity ofcargo carriage
  • increasing speed of train
  • reducing costs of maintenance and railwayballast
  • comfortand more safetyof passengers
  • increasing theuseful life ofrailroads

7.Preventing oflandslides, falling of rocky cliffsandearthslopes

Erosion of rocky cliffs gives opportunitiesforlooserock fragmentswhich have beenweatheredandhave potantiol to fall. With application of polymernetsplacingon the slippery surfaceandrocky cliffs, prevention of disaster ordamage tostructures (roads, bridges, buildings, etc) would be possible.

Thisstrategy, especially in mountainous and coldareas of the country wherethelarge piecesof stone, crush due to drastic changes intemperature and freezing orbecause of raining, isveryeffective.

8.Reinforcingand Strengtheninggrasssubgrade

Usingmeshiran engineering nets, lives of grassand vegetative plants areincreased, grass strengthanddurability are improved, especially in high trafficplacesandevenparkings.

This netdue to itshightensile strength compensatethe weakness ofgrassandsoft soil andeventuallyprevent itfromdestruction.

  1. Fencing
  • ease of installation andlightweight
  • stainlessand chemical and biological corrosionresistant
